Struggling with too many options and not sure which Cricut EasyPress 2 is right for you? Check out this guide on choosing the right machine for you!

When Cricut came out with the EasyPress it had one size option – the 9″x9″. Choosing was so easy then, right? Well, not they have 4 different sizes! Each one still has the same consistent heat setting, they’re all compact enough to be able to put away (unlike traditional heat presses) and super easy to use.
Now, before I go on, let me explain what the EasyPress 2 is in case you’re a newbie. Now, you can use this material cut out with the Cricut or Silhouette Cameo 4 – just as long as you follow heat setting instructions, you’ll be good!
What is the Cricut EasyPress 2?
The EasyPress 2 is used to adhere HTV, Iron-On, or Sublimation products to fabric and other materials. Most materials of these materials (besides sublimation) has a sticky back, so when you apply heat to it, it sticks to the material.
I’ll go into materials in a little bit, but basically, it’s like if an iron and a heat press had a baby. It’s the convenience of being portable (even the larger one), light enough to pick up, and yet it has a really hot consistent base, so it works REALLY WELL.
You can see my Cricut EasyPress tutorial HERE to see how it stands up to an iron, and read up more on the differences between an EasyPress and a Heat Press.
Which EasyPress is Right for me?
You can PURCHASE the EasyPress 2 in a couple different colors and various sizes. Now the colors is just personal preference, one is not better than the other – but in this case, size really does matter (I’m sorry – I couldn’t resist!)
And I also have to say that I have definitely used my EasyPress as an iron, too! It works so much better than standard irons, but you have to be very careful about your heat settings and don’t use it on items that require steam.
9″x9″ Model
The 9X9 is the Standard Cricut EasyPress 2 model. If you can only purchase one size, this one covers a wide range of products. It’s still a manageable size, but has a wide enough area for slightly larger projects.
You can always move it to different sections if you have a design that’s larger than the 9X9″ model (though I wouldn’t try that with Infusible Ink – you want to get that in one go).
If you want to create mid-size, flat projects, this is the one for you!
Items you can make with the 9×9 model:
- Kid’s T-shirts
- Small to Medium Adult T-shirts
- Small Wood Signs
- Small Tote Bags
- Small Pillow Covers

9″x12″ Model
This is my favorite Cricut EasyPress 2 model because I do a lot of projects with a large design. It’s my favorite to use with Infusible Ink projects (besides coasters), because as I said before – you want to get that in one go. If you move the EasyPress around too much, the design could move and that’s one expensive disaster.
So, if you are creating large, flat projects, this is the Model for you!
Things you can make with the 9X12 Model:
- Adult Shirts
- Large or X-Large Kids’ Shirts
- Pillow Covers
- Large Wood Signs
- Large Totes

6″x7″ Model
This is my second favorite model. I really like that I can use it on small projects and I can carry it around anywhere. While it doesn’t take care of those large tote bags, I’ve found enough small projects I use it for.
If you mostly do small, flat projects, this Cricut EasyPress 2 model is for you!
Things you can make with the 6X7 Model:
- Onesies
- Wood Coasters
- Infusible Ink Coasters
- Jean Pockets or Shirt Pockets
- Bandanna decals
- Socks

Mini Model
This is the only Cricut EasyPress model I have not personally tried, but I really can’t wait! There have been a couple projects I’ve been wanting to try – because this is PERFECT for those weird shaped objects like hats and stuffed animals.
It’s roughly the size of an iron – so technically, you could use an iron, but it looks a lot less bulky – plus irons just DON’T get the even heating that an iron does.
There are some smaller irons made just for crafts, but I can’t attest to those (since I’ve tried other EasyPress products, I feel like I can say with confidence that the mini is a GREAT asset to those iron-on projects).
So, if you want to create SUPER SMALL, WEIRD SHAPED iron on projects, this is the model for you!
Things you can make with the 9X12 Model:
- Stuffed Animals
- Hats
- Shoes
- Bows
- Slippers
- Perler Beads
- Wood Ornaments
